Roger Vivier was a French fashion designer who specialized in shoes. He is best known for inventing the stiletto! In addition to the stiletto heel, he experimented with other shapes, including the comma. He used silk, pearls, beads, lace, appliqué and jewels to create unique decorations for his shoes.

Some other fun facts: he designed for Dior and Christian Louboutin was his apprentice (not at the same time). While these Roger Vivier shoes are perfect, they are also a bit puzzling. I can't help but think they look like a bent spoon that's been shoved into some hard ice cream. #phishfood ! I love the creativity of the shape and can see the influence on Christian Louboutin and Nicholas Kirkwood.
