I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to my Sweet Claire Bear on her recent engagement to her amazing boyfriend of six years, Mike!!!! I will let Claire tell the story of the perfect proposal later, but I could not wait to congratulate these two. Mike has been a part of the Curran family since the two of them started dating their senior year of high school. We are all so happy for them and cannot wait to see what the talented and creative genius behind Claire Curran Events plans for her own nuptials!

While we wait for Claire to share her story, I will share my experience of the announcement of the proposal!! Claire called me Tuesday morning and said can you please come to mom and dad's house. She had some news. I forced her to tell me on the phone and I started screaming with excitement!! She said make sure dad is still at the house, so like the con-artist that I am, I called my dad and said I need you to look at my car (it's his achilles heel and I knew he would stay!). Caitlin was responsible for getting mom back home, probably a more difficult task, so she picked mom up and said you need to come home. My mom, without missing a beat said, "Dad's dead?" Caitlin started laughing and said, "no, get in the car!!"

Everyone gathered at the house at 8:30am and awaited the arrival of the newly engaged!! We had mimosas, Canon in D blasting, flowers, pictures of Celine Dion, and smiles on our faces and tears in our eyes (okay, just me, but still-- it's my baby sister, people!!). It was a special way to start our Wednesday morning and I am so excited for the two of them!!!

We got the scoop from Mike: he had the ring in Lake Tahoe hidden in the poker chip case and was going to propose in Tahoe but Claire got sick. Mike had asked my dad for permission so my dad knew and did not tell anyone! Good job, Timoteo. So, my dad also knew about the proposal and when he agreed to look at my car the joke was on me! This family is in serious need of a reality tv show, "Catching up with the Currans!"

Congrats Claire and Mike!! We can't wait to celebrate you!!
