PERFECT PAIR: RUNNING SHOES.
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Sometimes when the weekend is so jam packed I can hardly remember what I did. We had a great weekend with friends and family, as always! Claire and Mike got back from their honeymoon on Friday so it was so wonderful to hear all about it and catch up-- I missed them so much!
I was thinking about it over the weekend that it probably seems like I only socialize with my family, which is only partly true. I usually write pretty vaguely about friends on the blog and share minimal pictures to respect people's privacy. I mentioned it in my post about sharing baby photos on social media that we all have that one friend that takes a bunch of pictures that you think are for their own personal collage, but instead posts all of them across social channels and there you are eating a hot dog or sneezing and you have no way of taking it down. I do not want to be that friend.
Saturday we met up with some of Jesse's college friends and it was so much fun to see them, have them meet Lillian and hear what they were up to. I was remarking how special it is that the group has all grown up together and now is there for new babies, new homes, and new adventures. We have come a long way from late nights out and about in Vegas! We have traded in the strip for the Embarcadero!!! Ha! It was a little bittersweet because it reminded us all how fun we have together and how everyones' busy schedules prevents it from happening more often.
On Sunday morning Claire and I brought Lillian to cheer on her uncle Danny at the Bridge to Bridge 12K race from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge with the finish line at Marina Greens. We had an absolute blast cheering for Danny and soaking in the exciting energy of the runners and crowd. Claire and I had endless laughs as we snuck to the finish line to get photos and videos of Danny crossing the finish line. It would not be a normal day for me if I did not get an earful from a security guard about standing/ not doing / doing something incorrectly!! If you know me then you know this is true!
Needless to say I was in running shoes all weekend and it was heaven. I think I want to be buried in running shoes. As much as I love heels and flats, I truly feel in my own skin in running shoes.
I wasn't able to get to most of my weekend to-do list so I am off to do that now!
Have a great week!
