Happy Monday and Happy day after Mother's Day! I absolutely loved seeing my Facebook and Instagram feeds with lovely photos of friends with their gorgeous and inspiring mothers. I was taking particular note of how similar people look to their mothers and it made me wonder what our baby girl will look like! My niece Camilla, who is two, has already been the most loving cousin to Baby Petunia/ Coco/ Pedersen (call her whatever you want- just don't call her late for dinner (Tim Curran joke)).

Camilla lovingly calls her Tunie! When I walk in the door she will stop whatever she is doing and run over and kiss my belly and say, "HI TUNIE!!!!!". When I babysit Camilla, I can get her to do whatever I want if I just say something like, "Tunie wants to see you brush your teeth" or "Tunie wants you to eat your vegetables." The other day Camilla asked me what color Tunie's eyes were and I said we'll have to wait to find out. But she really got me thinking- luckily I only have to wait three more weeks to find out what she will look like.

My energy still feels great but I can feel my body slowing down. The best way to describe it is that I feel like I just ran a race that I didn't train for and now I'm sore everywhere! Throughout the pregnancy Jesse has been so sweet to oblige when I say to him, "squeeze my feet!" but now they are so tight and have become soooooo ticklish that I don't want him to touch them. Oh! And my calves are tight and very ticklish!!

My sister Claire has been traveling the past two weekends for work and honestly my heart can feel that she is out of San Francisco. I am anxiously awaiting her return tomorrow so that we can catch up, but also so I can rest assured that she is in our city. I like knowing that my entire family is here in SF!!

On Saturday, Colleen, Caitlin, Celine, Camilla, Clementine and I went to the Girls on The Run 5K at Golden Gate Park. I've mentioned this wonderful organization here before. It's become a family favorite to go to the race and we had a blast watching Camilla run around the concourse. The race combines all of my favorite things: running, Golden Gate Park, camaraderie, and girls!! Watching girls cross the finish line honestly makes me tear up-- it is so sweet! I can't wait to have Camilla, Clementine, and Tunie participate together next time!

We had a doctors appointment on Friday afternoon and my mom came and she was able to hear the heartbeat which was very special. She was talking to the doctor about her five deliveries and how she felt no pain and she didn't even know she was in labor. The doctor said we should come in next time with our birthing plan to go over with her since I might have a fast labor like my mom and sister Caitlin. So, that's been added to my to-do list for the week.

I can already tell that this week is going to be a great week. I am looking forward to making the most out of each day, being happy, and preparing for our baby to arrive! I'm also working on some fun projects that I can't wait to share so stay tuned!

Baby is the size of: A Winter Melon! The doctor said that she thinks right now we have a 6 lb baby based on the size of her head. Average size for newborn girls' birth weight is 7 lbs. Funny to think I was 9 lbs when I was born!!

Weight Gain: 20.5 lbs. I've been wearing more maternity clothes and I think they are accentuating my bump and making it look big. I am so curious to see what my body will look like when I leave the hospital! Please read this candid post about the experience I've had with my changing body! It's one of my favorites and will show you that although I haven't gained a lot of weight during pregnancy, I've had some interesting moments, to say the least.

Common Symptoms

Urge to Nest: I have always been a clean freak and love things organized and so it's not uncommon for me to randomly vacuum or clean for three hours straight. Caitlin said that she did sixteen loads of laundry two days before Clementine was born. I'm afraid to see what nesting looks like for me!! I have been feeling the urge to decorate our house a little bit more since I know we will be having lots of visitors and it still looks like an open house that has been staged since it's very minimal aka we have nothing on the walls and minimal furniture in the living room. I am on the search for a new duvet because I get a new one with big transitions and changes in our lives.

Heartburn: No heartburn but have had moments of acid reflux (same as last week) but I just take Tums and I'm fine. Although, on Friday night I woke up in the middle of the night because the acid reflux was really bad. I took two Tums and went back to sleep.

Stretch marks:  Knock on wood- I haven't had these yet. Still, just the ones from puberty! Ha.

Trouble Sleeping: I've been able to fall asleep, I just wake up early in the morning and start my day or shower and try and fall back asleep. I've been feeling pretty rested.

Urge to Pee: Yes, and now it's gotten uncomfortable. And I'm talking more uncomfortable than waiting in line for the bathroom at a bar during college. All of a sudden I have to go badly. Luckily, I always know where a bathroom is and everyone is really sweet about offering to let me use the restroom first if there's a line.

Weird Things: I don't want to watch tv!! I'd rather get in bed and just lay there and think. I used to be able to fall asleep on the couch watching tv, and I probably still could, I just don't enjoy it.

I said this last week, but Jesse wanted me to remind everyone that I keep grunting! And I still don't notice it until he points it out. I often sigh and exhale and it seems like if I am not doing that than I hold my breath and grunt. Both of these are things I don't notice until Jesse is like, "are you okay over there?!"

All of a sudden I have been craving carrots!!! This isn't a pregnancy craving like I'm making Jesse run out at 10pm to pick up carrots. It's more like I had them the other day and they were so satisfying that when I want something light to snack on I go for carrots.

Sad Things: I have outgrown THE SNOOGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought this day would happen!! But honestly, I am getting bigger and it takes up more room than the value it provides, so at this point I've decided to move it on the couch and use it for naps. For night time I use just our regular firm pillows for between my knees. #RIPsnoogle

Three weeks to go and I am feeling a twinge of sadness that this pregnancy will be over so soon! Read my previous post about the ten things I will miss most!!

I hope everyone has a great week!!

xoxo, Caroline
