Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I took a few days off last week and I got a few texts and emails from people wondering if I had gone into labor- nope, not yet! Two more weeks to go! Last Thursday I went to the doctor and she told me to take it easy, so I completely shut everything off and just took some time to rest and reflect about the upcoming changes. It hasn't gotten any easier for me to just lounge around all day and do nothing. I thought that it would, but I find myself getting a little restless. I just try and cherish the moments because everyone, especially new moms, keep telling me to enjoy the quiet before life gets crazy.

The biggest change I've noticed is that it's hard to turn over in the middle of the night. If someone told me that towards the end of pregnancy flipping sides would be painful I would have thought, no way! But ladies, it's true. Turning from side to side requires some technique. In the middle of the night when I am half asleep and turn over fast I end up in a little pain. The past couple of nights I've slept on the couch in, what Jesse calls, "my fort"- I have my Snoogle against the couch, two pillows for my knees, ice pack and a heating pad to alternate for my back, and another pillow nearby. I am wondering how my body will feel after labor and if I can sleep on my back because I miss it so much!

We had a lovely weekend celebrating our dear friends, Maya and Dan at their wedding this weekend. I wasn't able to dance very much, but it was fun to see everyone, especially the happy couple, having a blast. Last night I'm pretty sure I had a contraction that lasted a while and this morning I woke up with the worst muscle cramp in my right calf that I have ever had! I had a few thoughts running through my head: is this muscle cramp what contractions are like? I also kept thinking about my mom's advice to not try and fight the muscle contraction, just lay there and breath. So what did I do? I screamed, "JESSE!! I'm having the biggest leg cramp of my life!!!!!!!" and started laughing at the pain, my scream, and the funny situation. He jumps out of bed like George Banks and then I can't help but laugh even more and that really makes it worse! I know it was from being in my wedges the whole day and night (we stayed until 11:15pm!!). Luckily, I am one smart cookie and last week scheduled a massage for this evening! I can't wait!! Oh, I can't remember if I mentioned this but my new thing that has happened the past couple of times I've gotten a massage is that I fall asleep and wake myself up with one, LOUD single snore! The masseuse and I both laugh. I'll keep you posted if that happens today!

This week is a big week and the one I've been wanting to get to without going into labor! I keep telling myself, just get to Memorial Day!! I have graduation from USF this week and my mom's birthday is Friday!! Next week I am planning on crossing those final things off of my to-do list for baby. We put together the Halo Bassinet on Friday night during half time of the Warriors game. We still need to pack our hospital bag and finalize our birth plan.

For the longest time, I wanted to go to the doctors all the time! I felt like it was torture waiting weeks in between appointments. Now, we are going to the doctor weekly and it's difficult to fit into our schedule! But I still love going and can't wait for Friday's appointment!!

Hard to believe at 38 weeks that this pregnancy is almost over. I've been feeling extremely appreciative of everyone's kind words and supports and can't wait to welcome Baby Coco (when the time is right!)!!

Baby is the size of: A Pumpkin! Hard to believe that she once just the size of a pomegranate!

Weight Gain: 22 lbs. and feeling pretty good! Although, last week my knees where aching and I couldn't do anything but ice them! I think it is from carrying extra weight.

Common Symptoms

Lightning Crotch: Did a 6th grade boy coin this term?! It means with baby bumping against the nerves in the body there can be shooting pains in your legs and uterus. Haven't had this.

Braxton Hicks: Yes! I've been having these pain-free contractions. They're fun! Did I just say that? It makes me feel like I am getting closer to delivery.

Acid Reflux: The baby has dropped a little bit and so I don't have acid reflux but I still carry my Tums with me every where!

Excited for: I ordered a rocker for our nursery and it's going to be delivered today! I can't wait to spend more time reading in the nursery waiting for baby to arrive!
