While I don't talk politics on my blog I felt it necessary to share on this topic. I posted last week on Facebook:
"I was raised in an environment that truly empowered girls and women. I thought this election meant the rest of the country was finally catching up. I am shocked and saddened by what has transpired. My heart goes out to all of the women around the world, especially Hillary."
Last week was a very rough week for me and for a lot of people. I thought that I would wake up on Wednesday and go into Lillian's room and do the Hillary-just-won-dance. Instead I was sick. Sick to my stomach that someone who publicly boasts that he assaults women was elected to be our president.
Like others, I am still processing what happened, what this means and what I can do. I don't really have any answers right now but I had to share that while I am posting happy moments on my blog and social channels, just know that every day I have been thinking about the election and the aftermath.
One thing that has been a blessing has been processing it all with my family. If you need someone to talk to feel free to email me at Caroline.Perfect10SF@gmail.com.
