I have been wanting to share these photos from our December trip to Bacara Resort forevvvver!! I was so busy with the start of the year and recovering from getting sick that I never had a chance to sit down and invest the time to share these. But, oh wow, it is that much more fun to go through them now that some time has passed.

Truthfully, these photos do not do Bacara Resort any justice. It is the loveliest place on earth and honestly, one of the only places that we have been that we considered extending our stay another night (we didn't and I still regret it) and is the only place where as soon as we drove off the property Jesse and I began to plan our return. The first night we were there we were saying we should make it our annual trip, but by the end of it we were saying we would have to go back sooner in the spring! Maybe for our fifth wedding anniversary in June!

After our quick and easy drive from San Francisco to Hearst Castle with a quick stop for lunch in San Luis Obispo, we made it to Bacara in Santa Barbara. Honestly, I cannot describe how welcoming and peaceful Bacara is. Everyone is friendly, happy, and it's dog friendly so obviously Lillian loved seeing all of the dogs.

We checked in our room in Villa 16 and had a partial ocean view. But trust me, there are no bad rooms at the resort. We quickly put on our robes and had a bottle of wine on the patio along with some cheese and crackers sent to us by Jesse's parents as a surprise Christmas present.

Lillian loved running around the room, playing on her toddler bed and swimming! Bacara is extremely family-friendly and there were a lot of children of all ages but the set up of the villas makes it seem so quiet.

Bacara is known for it's spa and saline pools and being right on the ocean. Honestly, there are so many wonderful features that it's hard to list them all. If you are looking for a vacation then THIS IS IT!! We loved going to the spa, swimming in the pools, walking along the beach front path, having drinks and lettuce wraps at the bar, waking up early and grabbing coffee at the cafe and sitting on our patio, taking baths in the jacuzzi bath tub, sitting by the fire place in our room, and sleeping in a cozy king-sized bed.

Bacara is perfect for bachelorette parties, anniversaries, and you can even have your wedding there. They also have executive meeting rooms with an auditorium for conferences. I was telling Jesse he should look into having an event for BuildingConnected in the future at Bacara!!

We found the best way to start our day was to get up early, grab coffee and explore the property. It has everything you need and you never really have to leave. Lillian loved climbing up all of the stairs and running around chasing after the golf carts that carry guests and their luggage to their rooms. She affectionately called them buses!!

The rooms are so comfortable, which is important to us because with a little one we spend a lot of time in the room.

We also loved swimming in the pools and going in the hot tub! I will share a separate post on all of our fun pool time activities later!
