Pregnancy Update: 25 Weeks.

countdown to baby

Happy Tuesday! So sorry I didn't post yesterday- thanks for everyone who always checks in when my pregnancy posts don't go up on Monday! I am fine and healthy. We were traveling home from my brother Danny's wedding in Detroit! I can't wait to share pictures and more about it! Lillian and her cousins were the flower girls and ring bearer. It was a fun celebration for Danny and Laura!

We are officially 25 weeks and I am so excited!! I always say how excited I am, but that's because it's true! 15 more weeks and I can hardly believe it! I am hoping that our baby comes a little late because I really want to go to NPR's first-ever How I Built This Summit in San Francisco on October 16th. I'd love to go to it and then leave and head to the hospital! Wouldn't that be great!

Pregnancy has been so amazing so far! Every day I am so grateful to be pregnant, growing our family, having Lillian become our big sister, watching Jesse with a newborn again, and really focusing on our family. I really try to not complain because one, it doesn't do anything, but mostly because this is what I have wanted- a healthy, growing family.

Also, dont' believe the horror stories you hear about traveling with children. Everyone is friendly, there are always a lot of families on planes, and even if people aren't traveling with young children they have children or nieces and nephews and look at you with loving and understanding smiles. People are always incredibly kind to us and parents really shouldn't feel bad if their little one is crying- it's part of life.

We really have the quick trip down and can't wait to take a longer trip with Lillian and our baby sometime next year. I am trying to tell Jesse we should head to London and Amsterdam!! I've never been to Amsterdam and really want to go!!

I honestly feel like I don't have that much to report for this week. I feel like the pregnancy is going at just the right speed- not too fast and not too slow. I am loving each week and savoring the time as a family of three. I know summer is going to fly by- I mean tomorrow is already the 4th of July- and that it will be September and October before we know it!!

Claire is doing really well her new baby! He is five weeks old and she will be sharing an update soon! She is such an amazing mom- so loving and so natural. She makes it look so easy! She and Mike are really enjoying this time and it's so nice to live so close to one another!

My best friend Andie gave me this adorable countdown to baby calendar for Lillian to countdown until the baby is here. I have it on the mantel in our living room and it feels like an advent calendar as I move it each week! You can shop it here! Such a cute little gift for a friend or coworker!

25 weeks update

Baby is the size of: As big as a head of cauliflower, measuring 13.6 inches in length and weighing nearly 1.5 pounds. I love that she is getting bigger!!

Common Symptoms: The common ones at this time are trouble sleeping, frequent urination, constipation, heartburn, gas and bloating, Braxton Hicks contractions. The only one I really feel is the frequent urination. I honestly go pee all the time and think if someone asked me my super power it would be that I could pee on command. Lol. But I always have to go!!!!! I also have acid reflux everyone once in a while and just take a Tums and feel better!

Complaints: No complaints!

Loving: I just cannot get enough of the movement and can't wait for some strong punches from this little lady!! She is so active, especially at 9:00 pm at night. I have a feeling that's when she will be born! Lillian was SO active around 10:00 pm and that's right around when I was in labor- she came at 11:05 pm.

Pregnancy Comparison: Both pregnancies have been simply wonderful! Honestly, I feel like this one has been pretty smooth and there is less to share. I keep thinking these updates seem so boring compared to the first time around when I was experiencing everything for the first time. But I am so happy this pregnancy because I know how magical everything will be when our little girl is here!

Lillian Update: I try not to gush over her too much on here because I don't want people to think I don't have a life, but I seriously can't get over how awesome she is. She's fun and funny and smart and inquisitive and just super fun to be around! She's an awesome traveler and I can't wait for all of the adventures we'll take together!

Fun stuff: We are having a blast around here nesting! And what I mean is that Lillian and her trusty assistant Jesse are absolutely loving putting together all of the furniture pieces we are getting! I'm all about organizing everything right now, pulling things out of storage, washing everything and I am so excited because I am getting our rugs and couch cleaned this week. It's been on my to-do list for a while!

Weight Gain: 17 lbs. Same as last week but I feel like it will go up. I think I gained 25 lbs with Lillian. I can see myself gaining 30+ lbs this pregnancy and I'm fine with that. They also say your second baby is bigger. Which I actually welcome because they come out so sturdy!!!
