Pregnancy Update: 32 Weeks.
I am going to keep this week's update short and sweet because I have so much to do today, this week, and this month! I know that I am no exception- everyone is really busy as summer comes to an end and the school year starts. I just dropped Lillian off for the first official day of the school year in her new classroom and she was great. She doesn't even look back when I walk her in and honestly I am so proud of her. She is so independent and loves adventure that its so remarkable to watch her just go! I cannot wait to see all of the things she will accomplish because she is so fearless! A huge help in fostering her independence was putting her in daycare when she was 8 months. She became so accustomed to drop off that its never been a big deal. But I am sending good vibes and wishes out to everyone who is dropping their child off at daycare or school for the first time.
This is the first school year that I am not sad to be working in a school. I definitely miss my experience and if I had stayed working in a school would love it, but I am just really loving how my life has unfolded and how my professional experience. There are huge parts of me that are heavily influenced by my time working in a school and they continue to guide me professionally and for that, I am grateful.
I am delighted to be 32 weeks and am especially delighted that we made some progress on the nursery. I love doing construction projects but I am self-aware to know that I am not thaaaattt skilled at them and its better to have a professional aka Jesse help. I am definitely getting better with each project we do together because I learn new best practices. When we were first dating, and really up until not that long ago, I would be so impatient that I would try and do things by myself and the end result was not up to par so then I would have to wait for Jesse to come and help fix things. I've learned my lesson time and time again (hello, curtain rod in our room that looks nutso) and now I just have to wait for Jesse's schedule to free up and then we knock out a few projects at a time.
Over the weekend we hung the curtains in the nursery and some shelves in Lillian's room that I have been wanting to hang forever. This upcoming weekend we're going to put the dresser together and reassemble the crib. Right now I have it loosely together and propped against the wall so I can get a visual for it. And of course, Lillian tried to run and jump into in and then it fell on her and she was crying. So getting that in order is definitely on our to-do list.
It's funny to me how even the second time around doing certain things helps you feel more prepared- getting the nursery in order makes it feel real. Buying baby clothes makes it feel super real! When we were working together on the nursery, Jesse and I were saying how excited we are getting for our baby girl to arrive!
I took the glucose screening test a few weeks ago and everything came back fine. I love how active this little girl is. Lillian would literally kick me, but this Baby shuffles around and dances in there! She moves side to side! It's so funny and honestly tickles a bit! I keep thinking about how I can't wait to see what she looks like and what her personality is like!! I know that she and Lillian will be best friends and I can't wait!!!
32 Weeks Update
Baby is the size of: A squash! Average baby measures 16.7 inches and weighs in at about 3.8 pounds. I have a feeling we will have an 8lb baby!! Can't wait to see when she arrives!
Weight Gain: 25 lbs (I think this is what I gained in total with Lillian)
Cravings: Water! Just can never drink enough water. I am thirsty at all times.
Goals for the next couple of weeks: Get The Bundle of Joy organized so that I can feel good about taking some time off when our daughter arrives! Finish up the nursery and pick the paint color!
Lillian Update: She has gotten so hilarious and just cracks us up all the time! She can't wait to meet her sister!
Thankful for: My husband Jesse!! And our families who are both local and offer so much amazing support to us!!!
