Pregnancy Update: 34 Weeks.
This past weekend was one for the books. Jesse finished work early on Friday and the three of us headed out of town and enjoyed the super long weekend. After an incredible summer with friends and family, it has been so special to spend time just the three of us, especially before we welcome our fourth member so soon!
While we were so close to home, it felt like a real vacation. We had no plans and just let the days unfold. We spent time at the park, Lillian mastered bike riding a bigger bike with training wheels, we went to a children's museum, went swimming, played outside, and grilled for dinner every night.
And after an adventurous weekend I am tired and sore! At 34 weeks, it's so hard to believe that everything will be happening so soon. We are heading to our friends' wedding this weekend and I am pretty sure that it's going to be the last time I am going to get dressed. It's workout clothes and pajamas for me from then on out!!
Spending a lot of time with Lillian has been great but it can definitely be tiring. She is so full of energy and I find myself being a lot slower physically. Baby Echo is low and it puts a lot of pressure on my pelvis. I was thinking about how magical this pregnancy has been. I really don't feel any pregnancy symptoms, but I definitely feel like I've been injured- sore in my hips and pelvis and it can be hard to walk. I have been loving going swimming. I was so sore this morning and in the shower, I immediately felt better. I definitely believe that water heals everything. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a refreshing bottle of water, dip in a pool, or a long shower.
I have to give a special shoutout to Jesse because he has really been so incredible the last couple of weeks. He's been busy with work but has been such a great partner to me and father to Lillian. I am so appreciative that I can always lean on him when I need to and I have had to lean on him more than ever recently.
Okay, so what else about this pregnancy? I scheduled a hospital tour for next week and can't wait to scope it out again. Since we're not taking a birthing class this time around, I thought it would be helpful to tour the hospital again. Since I am a visual person I know that reminding myself what the hospital looks like will help me visualize and prepare.
Nursery is still a work in progress, hope to get that finished as soon as possible. I am just waiting until we come back from the wedding. I need to pick a paint color and am not ready to do that yet!
This pregnancy has been great because I feel strong, relaxed, excited, healthy and grateful. This time around I am definitely eager for labor and delivery and to meet our girl and not be in pain!
34 Weeks Update
Baby Girl is the size of: a butternut squash. With less than two months until go time, baby weighs in at about 4.7 pounds and measures about 17.7 inches! Wow! I definitely don't feel big enough to have that size baby in there but, alright!
Weight Gain: I think it's actually only been 22 lbs. The doctor scale and my scale at home are different but from my first OB appointment until my most recent I had only gained 20 lbs. So we'll see how much I end up gaining this time. I feel light and not heavy but this girl is lowwww, making me so slow!
Cravings: Been loving Bone Broth from As Quoted!
Lillian Update: She's been great and ready to be a big sister. But right she absolutely loves acting like a baby and saying, "mommy, take care of me". Rather than fight it, we've just been ignoring it or going with it. She has been a lot more clingy to me at times than she normally is.
Complaints: Not really a complaint, but I wake up in the middle of the night usually at 3:30 and have trouble falling back asleep. I've been trying to take it really slow during the day and force myself to not do certain things. I usually spend a lot of time cleaning our house but recently I've been like, whatever! I don't need to do it right NOW.
