Pregnancy Update: 35 Weeks.

caroline-35-weeks pregnant

TGIF! I inadvertently took the last two weeks off from writing- probably one of my longest breaks since I started the blog in 2014- and I’m back with this week’s pregnancy update! I am 35 weeks and, like I say every week, can hardly believe it!

We left at the end of last week for our best friends’ wedding in Santa Barbara and had the most amazing time! Jesse was the best man and gave a truly incredible speech. The celebration was the perfect mix of festive and relaxing. It was so special to be with our friends all weekend and at times when we were at the hotel it felt like we were at summer camp! I will be sharing more about the beautiful wedding and the experience later since there is so much to cover!

After the wedding, Jesse and I headed 45 minutes south to Ojai Valley Inn for a baby moon and to say it was perfect is an understatement. While it was hard to be away from Lillian for five nights, it was incredible to relax and do nothing together. I will definitely be sharing more about Ojai Valley Inn and some insider tips next week!

Our nursery is finally coming together- crib is up, dresser is assembled and full of adorable pink clothes, curtains are hung- I just need to finalize the paint color, paint it, and hang the mirror and artwork. It’s looking great and I can’t wait to welcome our baby girl home!

Other updates: We have our name finalized and we couldn’t be more excited! I need to pack our hospital bag and get some essentials for the house. Lillian is more than excited to welcome her baby sister and has been so amazing recently!

I am hoping to make it to 40 weeks with this little girl! Right now I am feeling really great! Each week something new pops up but then it goes away. First my back, then pelvis pain, then a hemorrhoid, but overall, I feel really amazing and healthy and now just feel like I need to mentally prepare for labor. I am not nervous about the actual labor but the logistics of getting to the hospital. When I had Lillian I arrived at the hospital at 7:00pm and she was born at 11:05 and for three hours I was waiting in triage for a room to become available. I am looking forward to this unique and memorable experience, however fast it happens!

One of the things that has been really, really fun recently is that so many of our friends are pregnant and having babies!!! It’s so wonderful to see everyone join the parent club, there’s really nothing it like it. But I also to say a prayer to so many people who are hoping to have a child. The time will come!

35 Weeks Update

Baby is the size of: Pineapple. She measures about 18.2 inches from head to heel. From here on out, she won't get much longer, but will keep plumping up. She weighs about 5.3 pounds, and will put on a pound or more of baby fat before we meet her!

Cravings: I haven’t had any cravings recently but have been loving acai smoothies and bowls. I haven’t had Souvla in forever so I will definitely want that soon!

Things to do: Finish nursery, pack bag, get more organized.

Thankful for: Everyone’s kind words and support. Everyone has been so friendly and asking how I am doing and I am so appreciative.
